Acid-base, Fluids, and Electrolytes Made Ridiculously Simple is intended to be a brief, easy to read book that provides the clinician with a straightforward approach to solving even the most complex fluid, electrolyte, and acid base problems. It should be useful to medical students, interns and residents, nurses, nephrology fellows, primary care physicians, surgeons and other clinicians responsible for IV fluid therapy.
More than half of this book consists of clinical examples and exercises. The text of each chapter contains a brief discussion of the key elements of diagnosis and treatment of a specific electrolyte or acid-base disorder. The numerous practice exercises at the end of each chapter, in addition to expanding on concepts developed in the text, help the reader learn a systematic step-by-step approach to solving even the most difficult cases.
This book assumes a minimum requisite background in renal physiology.
