Gastrointestinal Pathology: An Atlas and Text This book originally started as an atlas of gastrointestinal diseases. As it developed, however, it became clear that here was no one book of gastrointestinal pathology that clinical manifestations, radioloev, and pathologic analysis into a lingle convenient source. For this reason, it has gradually evolved nto a comprehensively illustrated textbook of gastrointestinal radiographs, and electron micrographs. We have tried to discuss ind to illustrate the spectrum of changes that may be present throughout the entire gastrointestinal tract, drawing on the wealth of literature that is dispersed throughout scientific texts and journals. The book is organized such that each anatomical section livided into three chapters, i.e., normal anatomy, nonneoplastic conditions, and neoplasms involving that site. A single chapter is devoted to the appendk, since it shares features of both the small ind large intestine and is affected by some unique entities. In addition, there are chapters devoted to inflammatory bowel disease, polyposis syndromes, endocrine cells, mesenchymal tumors, lym-phoproliferative lesions, and cytological features since the discussions involve disorders affecting multiple anatomic sites. The lonneoplastic chapters are arranged similarly with discussion of the embryological (congenital) disorders followed by a discussion of inflammations and miscellaneous disorders.
